Conservation district holds meeting:The Kane-DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District is holding a stakeholder meeting for the Fox River-Jelkes Creek Watershed. The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Sleepy Hollow Village Hall, 1 Thorobred Lane, Sleepy Hollow. Communities that are partly or wholly within the Fox River-Jelkes Creek Watershed are Elgin, Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee and Sleepy Hollow. Public input will be used to develop a plan to improve the quality of water within the watershed. Call Candice Jacobs at (630) 584-7961 ext. 3.Learn about referendum:Cary District 26 will hold a series of informational session for parents and others in the community interested in learning more about the referendum question that will appear on the Nov. 2 ballot. The district is considering the issuance of $15 million in bonds for use as working cash to pay employees' salaries and vendors' bills. Superintendent Brian Coleman and the district's finance director, T. Ferrier, will provide information regarding the financial situation of the district at each of the sessions. The sessions all begin at 7 p.m. and are scheduled as follows:Tuesday, Oct. 5, in the cafeteria at Three Oaks School, 1514 3 Oaks Road; Wednesday, Oct. 6, in the cafeteria of Briargate School, 100 S. Wulff Street; Thursday, Oct. 7, in the cafeteria of Deer Path School, 2211 Crystal Lake Road; Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the cafeteria of Prairie Hill School, 233 E.
