District 214 career nights start Oct. 14
For the seventh consecutive year, Northwest Suburban High School District 214 will host three Career Nights in October and November.
Each night will focus on different career clusters, highlighting various professions in each category. With representatives from numerous businesses and industries, students and their parents will receive invaluable information on planning for the future.
The selection of presenters is configured based upon a student inventory, which every student completes in the spring. Top areas of interest are chosen and speakers are invited to informally talk with students about these areas.
Attending a Career Night may also help open the door to enrollment in the District Internship Program, as well as Education and Medical Academies.
• The first Career Night of the school year, Careers in Arts & Communication and Human Services," will be held at Elk Grove High School on Thursday, Oct. 14.
• Careers in Health and Natural Resources will take place at Buffalo Grove High School on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
• Wheeling High School will host the third and final night in the series, Careers in Engineering/Industrial Technology/Business & Computers, on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
All events begin at 7 p.m. with registration from 6:30-7 p.m. There will be two breakout sessions and a networking session and each program will conclude at 9 p.m.
