Bring ideas to Green Drinks meeting

On the first Wednesday of each month, environmentally-minded people gather upstairs at Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen to network and talk about "greening" the future.

The McHenry County Green Drinks meets from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 110 N Main St. in Crystal Lake.

The October presentation will be by Lisa Haderlein, executive director of The Land Conservancy of McHenry County, speaking about Project Quercus.

This will be an update on the accomplishments of this unique partnership, designed to preserve the legacy of oak woods and savannas in McHenry County, plus some thoughts on the future of the partnership.

There will be an information table set up, and guests are welcome to bring information about green products and services to share. Additional parking is available at the train station.
