Our flag deserves much more respect

American people, my question is: Why do we as Americans always have to be tolerant of everyone? Our flag is being burned, walked on and ripped to shreds not just in other countries but right here in our own land. (Arizona comes to mind.) The flag is ours to respect and protect, if nothing else but for the honor of the soldiers who have died for the flag that represents our country.

Who is tolerant of our feelings? Who but our soldiers are standing up for our freedoms? Who is brave enough to say enough is enough, when it comes to people destroying our flag, hurting our feelings and wanting to destroy our laws.

I immigrated to the United States 40 year ago, and I became a citizen as soon as possible so I could vote and be a proud American, but of late I am very confused. Is this country the same as 40 years ago, when our leaders and our youth where proud to be American? Our leaders are not worried about destroying our morals by letting our flag be spat at. What message are we sending to our young people?
