$11,000 compressor stolen from Wheaton construction site

Wheaton police are investigating the theft of an $11,000 piece of construction equipment.

Sometime between 3:45 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 Monday morning, a towable compressor valued at $11,000 was stolen from a construction site at Manchester Road and Bridge Street.

Police said the thieves knocked down a construction fence on Bridge Street, drove up the hill where the piece of machinery was sitting, broke the hitched lock and drove away with the compressor.

The unit is in a yellow box with a gray frame.

A $1,000 cash reward is offered for any information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Cmdr. James Volpe at (630) 260-2055.
