Entrepreneurs share experiences with D214 students
Northwest Suburban High School District 214 will hold its Entrepreneurship Day for students on Friday, Oct. 1, at Forest View Educational Center in Arlington Heights.
District 214 schools have been working since March to organize a mini-conference, featuring presentations by local entrepreneurs. Since the first Entrepreneurship Day was such a success, all six high schools will be represented this year.
More than 180 students will attend the conference, which will be broken into four sessions, where students will attend a presentation by one of three speakers. Entrepreneurs will discuss their businesses, how they formed their ideas, how they implemented their goals, their future plans and more.
Each session will be 30 minutes in length, including time for audience feedback and questions.
The keynote speaker will be Gordon Segal, Crate and Barrel founder. Other speakers are Raman Chadha of DePaul University; Joette Doran of Joette S. Doran & Associates; Al Kutchins of Kutchins, Robbins and Diamond; Jim Nowakowski of Interline Creative Group; Mike DeMar of Fidelity Wes Builders; Jeff Weber, entrepreneur and author; Jim and Ric Clifton of On Time Embroidery; Dan Micic of Medical Shipment LLC; Ken and Katie Dix of Capannari's; Ann Reed of IBIO Institute; and Courtney Hill of Market M.
The teens and entrepreneurs will enjoy a networking lunch together, provided by Jay's Beef, where the students will have an opportunity to learn from the experts in a casual setting.
