Keep the country moving forward

Most Americans are frustrated but not ignorant (unless you count the "Obama is a Muslim" and the birther fringes), but they do tend to have a rather short attention span.

There is no other population in the world that would tap their fingers while waiting for instant coffee to heat in a microwave. They complain about the bank bailout while never once considering how they would feel if their check bounced because the bank didn't have any money. They have no idea what life would be like if they got a busy signal when they dialed 911.

They have watched 401(k) plans cut in half and some still foolishly want to do away with Social Security in favor of a "privatized retirement plan." They blame Obama for high unemployment when jobs used to be lost at three-quarters of a million every month when he took office and now are expanding by 60,000 or so each month.

The well-to-do bellyache about a tax rate expiring that they knew about for years even though 90 percent of Americans will not see that tax rate expire. They cry crocodile tears about the deficit explosion but insist that their tax rate be maintained without paying for it.

Republican leadership could care less about the uninsured getting health care just as long as their selfish insulation from the masses is maintained. They rue the passage of Consumer Protection against the parasites and predators that populate the credit card industry.

When you vote this November (as you darn well better lest the loonies take over), do you really want to return the parasites who got us into this mess and eject the people who are pulling the country out of the mud puddle? If you are currently unemployed, blame the firms that aren't hiring you.
