How is U.S. Senate race even close?
As a former New Yorker, I am amazed that the U.S. Senate race in Illinois is even considered to be a dead heat. How is it possible that the treasurer of the state of Illinois (with credit ratings equal to that of Third World nations), with a bank that loaned money to mobsters and gets bailed out by the taxpayer is even within shouting distance of his opponent?
How is it possible that the same party that gave us 'Blago' and the joke that is Senator Burris actually has a chance to foist another of their cabal to wreak further economic destruction to Illinois and the U. S.? While Chicago is considered the 'second city', the 'Machine' politicians here in Illinois make us Number One in corruption and incompetence. New York politicians are 'pikers' in comparison to the Machine.
At this crucial time, a time which has moved 'common folk' to act, we need to clean up the mess that is our government. We need to send Congressman Kirk to the U.S. Senate as a fiscally conservative voice who will begin to reverse the unbridled spending that has put our nation at great risk now and in the near future.
