Fans name Bears' QB Cutler week's top passer

Quarterback Jay Cutler of the Bears and running back Arian Foster of the Houston Texans are the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on Sept. 9-13, the NFL announced today.

Cutler went 23 of 35 for 372 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the Bears' 19-14 win over the Detroit Lions.

Foster ran for a team-record 231 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries in the Texans' 34-24 win over the Colts.

Cutler and Foster were selected from among six finalists in Air and Ground categories. The other FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week finalists were quarterbacks Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Davis Garrard of the Jacksonville Jaguars and running backs Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans and ex-Illini back Rashard Mendenhall of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fans voted for more than their favorite players. The weekly FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards are also a win for local communities. Along with the player awards, FedEx is making a $2,000 donation in each of the winning players' names to the local Safe Kids USA coalitions in Chicago and Houston
