St. Francis wins at McAuley

Daiva Wise had 12 kills and Meg Vonderhaar 11, and the No. 3 Spartans picked up a big 25-18, 25-21 road win at Mother McAuley.

Grace Churney added 5 kills, Gina Madonia 11 digs, Theresa Katarzynski 10 digs and Kelly Reinke 27 assists for St. Francis (13-1).

Wheaton Classic: The host Tigers dropped two matches in pool play, losing 21-25, 25-17, 25-17 to Lemont and 25-23, 25-21 to Downers Grove South. Shealyn Kolosky had 11 kills and 2 blocks and Kate Phalen 6 kills and 6 digs in the Lemont match. Kolosky had 7 kills and Jacky Rodriguez 9 digs for WW South (7-5) against Downers Grove South. Wheaton North beat Evanston 25-21, 26-24 and lost to Glenbrook South 32-30, 25-23. Kelsey Ullrich had two-match totals of 25 kills and 17 digs for the Falcons (4-6). Katie Thornton added 48 assists and Laura Drabant 11 kills and 12 digs.

Glenbard South d. Ridgewood: Bridget Anderson had 10 kills in her first match back from a broken toe, and the Raiders held off host Ridgewood 25-23, 18-25, 25-18. Kim Deprez added 22 digs, Anna Watterson 7 kills and Sarah Engelhardt 6 kills. Jane Trzaska had 4 kills and 13 digs for Glenbard South (7-3, 3-0 Metro Suburban).

Glenbard North d. Glenbard East: The Panthers (5-5, 1-3 DuPage Valley Conference) rallied for a 25-27, 25-21, 25-22 win in Carol Stream. Michaela Stranski had 10 kills, Lauren Pusinelli 7 kills and Mariah Carpio 27 digs for Glenbard East (3-7, 0-4).

Lisle d. Sandwich: Vanessa Abenante had 7 kills and Darian Payne 6 kills and a block, pacing the Lions to a 25-18, 25-12 win at Sandwich. Shelby Kretman added 4 aces and Frankie Parrillo 11 digs and 2 aces for Lisle (9-7, 3-1 Interstate Eight).

Timothy Christian d. Elmwood Park: Kari LeGrand had 4 digs and 3 aces and Emma Vander Woude 4 kills and a block for the Trojans in a 25-15, 26-24 win. Cassidy Block chipped in 2 blocks, 1 kill and 5 digs and Krista Lodewyk 13 assists for Timothy Christian (6-5, 3-0 Metro Suburban).
