Scouting Hoffman Estates at Rolling Meadows

Hoffman Estates (0-3) at Rolling Meadows (1-2)

When: 6:30 p.m. today at Robert A. Hoese Athletic Field

Last week: Hoffman lost to Prospect 52-0; Meadows lost to Schaumburg 47-6

Outlook: A must-win for injury-plagued Meadows as it looks to extend its seven-year playoff streak and bounce back from consecutive losses. The Mustangs were without RB Garrett Peterson, NT John Garcia and WR-DB Artie Checchin last week and their only TD came from sophomores as QB Jack Milas hit John Burkiewicz. Turnovers (five with two returned for TDs) and penalties cost Hoffman for the second straight week as it looks to get its option attack going with QB David Gutierrez and RB Michael Reeves. "We've never really been clicking on all cylinders," said Hoffman coach Bill Helzer. "It would be nice to see what we're capable of doing without a penalty, turnover or missed block. We have to take care of ourselves right now." Meadows has won the last five meetings to take a 15-14 series lead.
