Kane Countybull; Phillip Robbin, 41, of the 4100 block of Highland Avenue, Downers Grove, was arrested on a charge of cannabis possession in a traffic stop at 9:53 a.m. Sept. 7 at North Farnsworth Avenue and Molitor Road near Aurora, according to a police report. Police said Robbin was pulled over after an officer checked his license plate number and found two active warrants for his arrest. When he was patted down, police said, authorities found 6.4 grams of cannabis in a bag in his right front pants pocket. bull; A South Elgin-area woman told police she was scammed out of nearly $200 Sept. 7 by a man claiming to work for Comcast. The man arrived at the woman's home on the 06N900 block of Elgin Street about 4:30 p.m. and told her he was there to collect her account balance of $193.35, according to a police report. The woman told police the man wore a photo badge that identified him as a Comcast employee and was carrying a "Comcast field collection receipt" with her name and personal information on it. The woman said she contacted Comcast after writing a check to the man and was told that Comcast field workers do not collect payments. She described the man as white, about 35 years old, 5-foot-8, 250 pounds, and bald. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt and driving a brown, older model four-door car, possibly a Ford Taurus.Bataviabull; Two bicycles were reported stolen around 11 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Webster Street. One was a boys 20-inch red "Spiderman"-themed bicycle; the other, a 26-inch 10-speed Keystone Roadmaster mountain bicycle, police said.bull; Someone stole two GE P-Tak air conditioners out of the shop/storage garage at Batavia Apartments, 1300 E. Wilson St., it was reported at 7 a.m. Saturday, police said.Genevabull; Israel Magallanes, 36, of the 700 block of South Oak Street in West Chicago, was charged with obstructing justice Wednesday, according to a police report. He is accused of giving a false name and false date of birth to a police officer at 11:40 a.m. in the 700 block of West State Street. Magallanes was also given traffic tickets charging him with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while his license was suspended, revoked or canceled.bull; Police said it appears someone shot white paintballs at a Nissan Rogue parked in a driveway in the 300 block of Diane Court between 9:30 p.m. Sept. 7 and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.bull; A pink Sanyo SCP2700 cellular telephone was stolen out of a purse in the girls athletics locker room at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave., between 3 and 3:50 p.m. Sept. 7, police said.bull; A blue Covvaid Lite Rider 14-inch lightweight travel chair was stolen off a sidewalk in the 800 block of Geneva Drive between 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. Thursday, police said. The owner inadvertently left it on the sidewalk while removing her children from her vehicle. The chair is used to transport a disabled child, and is valued at $1,799.
