Put a damper on frivolous suits
Thanks for your Sept. 1 article about the legal suit being filed by Cheryl Yachin, claiming her privacy rights were violated when a judge ordered her to take a Breathalyzer or blood alcohol test after she was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
It seems that she thinks she has a right to drive drunk on public highways paid for by taxpayers, risking injury or death to other drivers. This is the foolishness that clogs up our legal system.
In Great Britain anyone who files a frivolous suit will be ordered by the judge to pay a fine plus their own legal expenses and also the expenses of the defendant. Such a law here would put a damper on such stupid and frivolous lawsuits.
