DeWyze drops by track to promote Sept. 24 concert

Lee DeWyze swung by Arlington Park on Sunday to film footage for the next season of "American Idol." While he was there, he also shot a few promotional videos for his upcoming concert at the track on Sept. 24.

His parents, Kathy and Lee Sr, his siblings and a host of friends joined DeWyze at the track, which was his first real concert venue.

"Come on down and enjoy the evening with us," said Lee DeWyze Sr. "It's going to be a real good time."

In May, when DeWyze made it to Idol's top three, it took exactly 12 minutes for fans to gobble up the 41,000 free tickets at the track. There are still tickets left for his Sept. 24 show.

"I'm coming home Sept. 24 to play a show here at Arlington Park," says Lee into the camera, wearing a button-down jacket. "I hope to see you out here. It's going to be a good time."

The new promotional video also has footage of DeWyze surrounded by police and body guards, making his way through screaming fans to the track stage back in May. Fans wore neon T-shirts and waved signs that said things like "Batavia Loves Lee."

Tickets for DeWyze's Sept. 24 concert range from $8-$35 and can be obtained at www.arlingtonpark.com or at (847) 385-7427.
