Students to give creative touch to downtown foxes

Are you a student artist in St. Charles Unit District 303? Have you dreamed about having your art displayed for the public?

If so, join in helping the Downtown St. Charles merchants decorate fox statues as part of a special seven-week promotion, "The Fox Hunt," starting Oct. 15 to Dec. 4.

As a volunteer artist, you will be paired up with one of our downtown merchants. You will work together to determine how to adorn and display your decorated fox statue, which is 7 inches long, 5 inches high and 3.5 inches wide.

You can use any media. Foxes must be completed by Friday, Sept. 24.

There will be a limited number of fox statues decorated and "hidden" in downtown shops and restaurants.

Each week of the promotion, shoppers/diners will have chances to win prizes by "finding/hunting" the fox statues.

As part of this promotion, there will be a "People's Choice Award" for the favorite decorated fox. That artist will win a special prize.

Foxes can be picked from 9 a.m. and noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. now until Wednesday, Sept. 8 up at the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office, 213 Walnut St., St. Charles.

If you are interested in participating or have questions, call Chris Prieve at (630) 513-7845 or Ashley Dorsch at the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office, (630) 513-5386, ext. 3.
