Folk festival continues MondayThe Fox Valley Folk and Storytelling Festival featuring more than 30 national acts featuring traditional and modern music on eight stages, storytelling, dance and topical song workshops, food and more continues from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, at Island Park, off routes 25 and 38, Geneva. At these meetings, taxpayers will be provided with information on the property tax cycle, as well as how assessments are being developed; and how to appeal your assessment to the Kane County Board of Review and Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. Taxpayers will have the opportunity to address specific questions concerning their property and discuss any other property tax related concerns. There are plenty of disasters to share - floods, tornadoes, fires, droughts, train wrecks, explosions, snowstorms, etc. There are many dramatic images in the archives' photographic collection for the show. However, the center has no images of the Mother of All Snowstorms - January 1967. Also known as the Blizzard of 1967, the Chicago area received more than 20 inches of snow Jan. 26-27, 1967.If you have any photographs of this snowstorm from a Geneva perspective, the center would like to make a copy.
