Kaneland 302 board member resigns

Kaneland school board Trustee Bob Myers has resigned because he is moving from the district, it was announced Friday.

Myers, of Maple Park, was first elected to the board in 1999. The person appointed to replace him will serve the remainder of his term, through April 5.

Applicants should send a letter and resume by Sept. 17 to the Kaneland 302 school board, 47W326 Keslinger Road, Maple Park, 60151. The board intends to select a replacement no later than Oct. 12.

Would-be trustees must be citizens of the United States, at least 18 years old, a resident of Illinois and the Kaneland district for at least one year, and a registered voter.

People prohibited from becoming a trustee include child sex offenders, those who hold another incompatible public office, those who have a prohibited interest in a contract with the district, and those who have certain types of prohibited state or federal employment.
