Picture your kid with bears:The Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township is offering to have your child's photo taken with the 2,010 bears in Carpentersville. These bears are not the kind that play football on a Sunday afternoon. They are the soft, stuffed kind wearing red and white T-shirts. Proceeds from the photo shoot will benefit programs at six locations across Carpentersville. Each framed photograph is $25, with 99 cents from every dollar supporting the Boys and Girls Club. Photo sessions must be booked in advance. Contact Pat Dorgan Photography at (847) 783-0644 to schedule an in-studio session. Sessions will be available until Wednesday Sept. 8.Tootsie Roll days:On Sept. 10, 11 and 12 the Elgin Knights of Columbus will be participating in the annual Tootsie Roll fundraiser.
