The city council is considering changing the law to allow it, and is soliciting comments from residents about the idea. Residents in favor have prepared a PowerPoint presentation that can be viewed on the city's website, cityofbatavia.net. Comments should be sent to chickens@cityofbatavia.net.Prosecutors honored: A national capital litigation group has honored three DuPage County prosecutors for their work last year sending Brian Dugan to death row for the 1983 murder of Jeanine Nicarico, 10, of Naperville. A jury sentenced the three-time killer to the death penalty after a six-week hearing in which the evidence included more than 1 million documents, 400 witnesses and 400 physical exhibits. DuPage State's Attorney Joe Birkett, along with his assistants Romas Mockaitis and Michael Wolfe, now a judge, were honored this week at the Association of Government Attorneys in Capital Litigation's 31st annual conference in San Diego.Want to be a singer?The Misty River Music Makers, a women's four-part harmony a cappella chorus, invites is looking for singers 13 and old to be part of its Christmas programs.
