Joe Girardi should stay in New York

After having endured more than 30 years living in Chicago with the same aspirations espoused every spring. I would suggest unless Joe Girardi brings from the Yankees about $200 million, or the current roster of the club, he would be better off staying in New York.

There is absolutely no sane reason for a man to give up the best coaching job in baseball to come to a team that has very few talented major league players, and salaries that will handicap the team for the next couple of years.

Girardi's coaching experience is limited to players who have played in the majors for years. The current Yankee lineup has no players who were home grown. Girardi's talent is limited to managing of egos with players who are paid huge sums of money to do what they do. With exception, successes with players who have very little to no previous experience in the majors will present a huge obstacle for Girardi.

The type of manager the Cubs need sits in their broadcast booth. Bob Brenly is a teacher and professional who can create high expectations of players to play the game the way it is to be played. The young talent that the club does have will be respected and tutored by Brenly. Oh, and by the way, show Jim Hendry the door as well. Make sure he takes Soriano, Ramirez, Zambrano and Fukudome with him. Make the aspirations of spring a reality by putting a person who can nurture success, and be patient until it happens.
