Blackhawks sign Brandon Pirri to three-year contract

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed center Brandon Pirri to a three-year contract.

Pirri, 19, led all rookie scorers in the ECAC with 43 points (11G,32A) in 39 contests as a freshman at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.) during the 2009-10 season. The Toronto, Ontario, native's 32 helpers paced the Engineers while he ranked third with 11 goals and second in scoring on the club overall.

Chicago's second selection (59th overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Pirri was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team at the conclusion of his freshman campaign.
