Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

Recent Fence Post writers Lanlan Hoo and Steve Toye just don't get it. Both selectively pick facts to support their preconceived notions along their respective liberal or conservative party lines.

The sad truth is that Republicans and Democrats have been alternating in power for as long as I remember and under both parties things have generally gotten worse with the only ones to consistently benefit being the rich and politically connected. Scandals abound on both sides of the aisle.

Each side paints the other as evil incarnate. Both parties are comprised of lockstep ideologues. Incumbents on both sides are interested only in their own reelection and will say what they believe their supporters want them to say to win reelection.

My prediction is that no matter who wins in November not much will change for the average person. Pete Townsend of the Who said it best in the song, "Won't Get Fooled Again" - "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."
