Memo to bikers: follow the rules

A note to all Wheaton bikers: I was sitting at a red light at Danada Drive and Naperville Road, getting ready to make a left turn onto Naperville. I was about fifth in line when the light turned green. I was getting ready to make my move, when out of nowhere, a horde of about 40 bikers showed up, leisurely riding down the road, turning left from Naperville onto Danada.

We all waited as they rolled by, blithely jabbering all the way, and when their parade finally ended, the light was once again red. Thanks. OK, that was annoying, but I wasn't too worried. After all, I didn't really have anywhere important to go.

So I waited some more, until once again the light turned green. This time, two cars in front of me actually managed to make the left-hand turn onto Naperville Road, when, surprise, surprise, a second horde of bikers appeared before us, once again blocking us from turning, and once again making me miss the light.

At this point, I looked into my rear view mirror and saw a lengthy line waiting behind me, all thanks to you menacing bikers, and your complete lack of regard for anyone but yourselves. Tell me, why on earth are you riding in the middle of a busy road on a weekday, during rush hour, disobeying the rules of the road that a car has to obey? If you're going to ride on our roads, and get in our way, then the least you can do is follow the rules we follow.

If cars thought and acted like you did, our roads would be chaos and mayhem.
