2 charged with robbing Wheeling food truck vendor with BB gun

Two men have been charged with aggravated robbery after a mobile food truck worker was held up with a BB gun in Wheeling on Thursday, according to police.

Ryan Jenkins, 26, of Skokie, and Courtney Tucker, 24, of Evanston, robbed the victim at approximately 11:30 a.m., according to police. The victim was selling food in the parking lot of a factory in the 700 block of Northgate Parkway when the suspects approached the food truck, police said.

Tucker attempted to distract the victim by asking about food prices, while Jenkins sneaked up behind the victim and put a BB gun to the victim's back, according to police. Jenkins then removed a money belt that was around the victim's waist and fled the scene with Tucker in a tan minivan, police said.

A Northbrook police officer spotted the minivan a short time later on Waukegan Road near Glenview and pulled the vehicle over. Police then brought the victim to the scene, where he identified both suspects as the two that had robbed him, according to police.

Bond was set at $20,000 and a court date is scheduled for Sept. 15.
