Elginbull; Two Elgin men faced prison time after being arrested and charged with robbing a woman of her purse, $180 and a wireless phone on Aug. 18 while they were both carrying guns. police said. Stanley R. Gallager, 28, of the 400 block of Edison Avenue, and Demarquis S. Smith, 19, of the 300 block of Billings Street, were charged Monday with armed robbery, a felony that carries a six- to 30-year prison sentence if convicted and probation is not an option. Authorities were looking for the driver.
