Band seeks new memberHome-schooled students between ages 9 and 19 are invited to apply this fall for the West Suburban Home Band. The band practices on Thursday evenings at Resurrection Church, Route 59 and Army Trail Road, in Wayne. For the 2010-11 concert season the band will waive the instrument rental fee for students choosing oboe, French horn or tuba as their primary instrument. Taxpayers can go to kanecountytreasurer.org to view current tax information and print out duplicate bills. Also available on the website is a list of all unclaimed funds held by the treasurer's office. People can make payment by mailing the payment to the treasurer's office in the envelope provided, at a designated bank in Kane County, or in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Treasurer David Rickert's office, 719 Batavia Ave., Geneva. There is also a payment drop box available 24 hours a day located behind Building A at the Government Center on Batavia Avenue. People can also pay by credit card or E-check over the Internet, but there is a convenience fee for each service.
