Country Fair in DuPage The DuPage County Forest Preserve District will help residents step back in time for an old-fashioned country fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5 at Kline Creek Farm, 1N600 County Farm Road, near West Chicago. The fair will feature artifacts and oddities, a flea circus, a "gun spinner" and other activities visitors might have encountered in the 1890s. The event is free. Beginning at 8:45 a.m. that day, the department will conduct a bell-ringing ceremony at Fire Station 2 at 2020 South Highland Ave. The ceremony will include a moment of silence and officer comments. After the observance, the station will be open to visitors.'Sports Weekly' returnsThe first episode of "Naperville Sports Weekly" for the 2010-11 season premieres at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 on Naperville Community Television Channel 17. The half-hour weekly program includes highlights, scores, commentary and feature stories on Naperville's high school teams and can be viewed on Channel 17 in Naperville throughout the week or online anytime at NCTV17.com. The show, produced and hosted by Ben Hutchison, regularly features reporters from the Daily Herald and Naperville Sun.
