Kane sheriff's charity car show returns Sept. 4
Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez's Fourth Annual Charity Car Show returns to Elburn next month to raise money for a nonprofit agency for abused and neglected children.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Martin Family Farm, 2S111 Green Road. Perez said he hopes to raise more than $11,000 for CASA Kane County.
"Being in law enforcement, I've seen the direct result of what they do, and I can't imagine what life would be like for these kids if CASA Kane County wasn't here," he said.
Perez said the car show has continued to grow since its inception in 2007, generating about $22,000 total for Easter Seals, Disabled American Veterans and the Daniel P. Figgins Memorial Foundation.
This year, Perez said he hopes to draw at least 300 vehicles, including hot rods, antique cars and motorcycles. There also will be food vendors and a raffle for a children's steel-pedal police car.
"The whole goal is not so much what types of cars there are but how many we can get together for a good cause," Perez said.
It's $10 to register a vehicle, but admission is free. For more information, or to become a sponsor, call (630) 208-2003.
Donations made out to the Sheriff's Charity Car Show also can be mailed to the sheriff's office, 37W755 Route 38, Suite A, St. Charles, IL 60175.
