New emergency director: Marion Schneider, RN, has been named the new emergency department director at Adventist GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. Schneider, a resident of Fox River Grove, joined the emergency department in April and has more than 36 years of nursing experience. Before joining GlenOaks, Schneider worked as director of the emergency department at Rush Oak Park Hospital.Friends plans book sale: The Friends of the Helen M. Plum Memorial Library in Lombard will hold its semiannual used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 in the library's auditorium at 110 W.
