Wauconda crash results in two with minor injuries

Two drivers were taken to hospitals with minor injuries after an accident involving four cars on Route 176, just west of Route 12, in Wauconda

The crash happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

One driver was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington, while another was taken to Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, Wauconda Fire Batallion Chief Kevin Pyne said.

Pyne said it was a "chain reaction-type accident," with one car hitting another from behind and causing it to hit the car in front of it.

Two of the cars sustained "moderate to light damage," Pyne said.

Wauconda police officer Chris Gallivan said the two vehicles were towed.
