Randhurst Sports Authority to open

The new Sports Authority store in Randhurst Village will celebrate its grand opening at 7:45 a.m. Aug. 14 prior to opening to the public at 8 a.m.

Mount Prospect Mayor Irvana Wilks and members of the Village Board of Trustees will preside over the ribbon cutting. The grand opening event will go all day, with the Boy Scouts, the Mount Prospect Park District and the Green and White Soccer League participating.

There will be appearances by the Chicago Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk from 10 a.m.; Blackhawsks legend Eddie Olczyk, 1-2 p.m. and hourly drawings for prizes from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Starbucks, Costco, Bed, bath & Beyond, Bally and Export Fitness will also be open.
