Illinois Department of Natural Resources reopens part of Fox River
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has reopened the Fox River from the Algonquin Dam to the Montgomery Dam for recreational boating. The river remains closed from the Stratton Dam in McHenry to the Montgomery Dam.
The U.S. Coast Guard and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources closed the lower section of the river in late July due to heavy rainfall and an already saturated watershed.
