Downplay problems at national cemetery
As a veteran of foreign wars, I've sympathetic feelings for the families of loved ones who sacrificed their lives to protect their country.
I feel that the dissemination of the news by the Army inspector general, or whoever, in the Arlington Cemetery mismanagement situation is appalling. The people hurt by splashing this news all over the media are the many thousands of families whose loved ones are buried there.
I think they have suffered enough through their losses without dumping on them the uncertainty of whether their loved one is beneath the headstone containing his or her name. This certainly is not newsworthy, but rather negative news. I wish the news media knew the difference.
