Plane with gear problems lands safely

An airplane that reported landing gear problems landed safely at the DuPage Airport in West Chicago Thursday afternoon.

Deputy Fire Chief Steve Lakics said the West Chicago Fire Department responded to a call at about 1 p.m.

"It landed fine without any problems," he said.

Five people were on board the plane.

Several departments sent fire equipment and ambulances to assist with the call.
