McHenry Co. doctor, former House candidate, arrested
A McHenry County physician and onetime candidate for the state House faces a disorderly conduct charge after a woman told police he made sexually suggestive remarks to her outside a Crystal Lake apartment building, police confirmed Tuesday. If found guilty, Thomas G. Salvi, 46, of the 3500 block of Deepwood Drive, Crystal Lake, could get court supervision, a fine of up to $1,500 or as many as 30 days in jail.
"Nothing wrong was done, and certainly nothing was done remotely arising to the level of any sort of criminal behavior," said his attorney, Patrick Salvi. A 27-year-old woman told police that at about 6:48 p.m. June 25 a well-dressed man in a Cadillac drove up to her and "stated something fairly excessively sexual," Deputy Chief Gene Lowery said. She ignored the statement and drove away but called police with a description and a license plate number after the man continued to follow her. He is due in court Sept. 7.
