Molex comes out with earphones

Molex Inc., an electronic connector company based in Lisle, announced its entry into the audio accessories market with Evaldi next generation audio solutions.

Evaldi noise-isolating earphones represent the first audio product offering by Molex, which will be introduced and marketed worldwide through a limited-exclusive distribution partnership with Digi-Key Corp.

Using patented airstream-control technologies, Evaldi earphones enable both sharper high tones and lower bass sounds to be presented without interference. With a canal-type design and several unique features, such as an inclined stem with an elliptical shape, the earphones conform more naturally to the ear canal. The micro components and precision manufacturing features added to the inside and chassis of the earphones are designed to control the airstream to achieve higher quality sound. Packaged in a segmented pouch the earphones come with both open and closed style ear pads that help isolate the sound and allow users to customize their listening experience.

Established in 1938, the company operates 40 manufacturing locations in 17 countries.

Evaldi earphones have a 1,200 mm Y-shaped headset cord with a 3.5mm diameter plug. Designed for sophisticated sound quality, the earphones have a 13.5mm driver unit that can produce frequencies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a maximum power capacity of 50 mW. Impedance is rated at 16 ohms at 1 kHz.

Building on these advanced technologies, Molex plans to introduce additional audio-related products for personal and business use in the coming year.

Partnering with Digi-Key to bring Evaldi headphones to market provides Molex the ideal distribution partner to put an advanced audio solution into the ears of engineers. Digi-Key is widely recognized by design engineers as having one of the industry’s broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment.
