A shameless act of poor parenting
When I saw in the news that Rod Blagojevich and his wife brought their daughters to court for closing arguments, I was both amazed and saddened. I almost, but not quite, cannot believe that these two self-absorbed people would even consider subjecting their children to hearing the prosecution's well-thought-out case against their father.
Have Blagojevich and his wife sunk so low that they would parade their children in front of the jury in an attempt to obtain sympathy? Has it not occurred to either of these people that there are countless children in this world who have been deprived of the presence of their fathers in their homes because of situations that didn't arise from their father's greed and dishonesty? How many fathers have been deprived of daily contact with their families because of divorce or of any contact because of serious illness and/or crimes resulting in the death of perfectly innocent men who wanted nothing more in life than to be there to love and raise their children.
I have an uncle who has been interred in the military cemetery in Normandy since the close of World War II. He would not have chosen to leave his wife and baby son had he had that option. Rod Blagojevich and his wife are shameless.
