County Democrats cash in on suburbs

Once again, the Democratic Cook County Board is attempting to make a withdrawal from what they consider their own personal piggy bank - the North and Northwest suburbs.

County Democrats don't like the idea that the suburbs are standing up to them and saying "no!" to their red-light camera money-skimming scheme. They further object that the county should be financially responsible for roads and intersections that are theirs in the first place. And Joseph Moreno, a Chicago Democrat no less, seems to think we suburbanites should pay for any and all Democratic "give away programs." Mr. Moreno, what are you thinking?

And, the board's Democrats are being aided and abetted by Anita Alvarez and her cronies at the Cook County state's attorney's office. Their specious reasoning justifying their position is as absurd an argument as anyone will ever see put forward. However, in Cook County, up is down and right is left, and we are expected to follow the rabbit into the hole and come to live in Alice in Wonderland (aka Cook County).

We in the suburbs must elect people in November who will watch out for us and protect us from the ravages that the Democrat Party machine is trying to inflict on us. If we don't, then we get the government we deserve.

Haven't we had enough of Blagojevich, Stroger, Quinn, and all the other tax-and-spenders who have trashed Illinois and Cook County? With apologies to Cicero, how long, oh you suburban voters, will you allow the Democrats to abuse us?
