Chicago man charged with selling drugs

A Chicago man Saturday was charged with felony possession of drugs after selling cocaine to undercover officers in Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect, authorities said.

Xavier Redmond, 30, of North Laramie in Chicago, appeared in bond court for allegedly selling less than 1 gram of cocaine for about $50 to undercover officers on West Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights on July 14. He was charged with doing it again last Thursday with the same amount of cocaine and for another $50 on Algonquin Road in Mount Prospect. The substance each time had field tested positive for cocaine, said Cook Count Assistant State's Attorney Adam Klugman.

Redmond appeared before Cook County Circuit Court Judge Howard Fink, who ordered him held on a $75,000 bond and to appear in court again Aug. 19 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
