Streamwood to host summer celebration

It's not too late to make the most of the season. Streamwood's Summer Celebration kicks off from 5 to 11 p.m. today at Hoosier Grove Park, 700 W. Irving Park Road, Streamwood.

The party continues from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 24, and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 25.

Here's a schedule of events:

Friday

5-9 p.m. Children's craft activity area

5-10 p.m. Children's attractions

5-10:30 p.m. Children's carnival rides

5-10 p.m. Business Expo booths

5:30-8:30 p.m. Clowns Jay Jay & Bingo

5:30-7:30 p.m. Patchouli (folk/jazz), main stage

7-10:30 p.m. Bingo (sponsored by St. John's Church KOC)

8:30-10:30 p.m. 7th Heaven (variety), main stage

Saturday

10:30 a.m. Parade (step-off, Streamwood Boulevard and Bartlett Road)

Noon-4 p.m. Unlimited Carnival Rides with wristband $17

Noon-8 p.m. Business Expo booths

Noon-9 p.m. Children's craft activity area

Noon-10 p.m. Children's attractions

Noon to 10:30 p.m. Children's carnival rides

12:30 p.m. Jazzercise demonstration, children's stage

1-2:30 p.m. Ice cream eating contest (sponsored by Colonial Ice Cream), children's stage
