Mount Prospect Food Pantry needs items

The Mount Prospect food pantry says it is in desperate need of donations due to heightened demand resulting from the state of the economy.

Food and monetary donations will be accepted at the Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights Rotary Tent at the Downtown Block Party from 4-9 p.m. this Saturday, July 24. Items needed include bottled juice, canned goods, dried goods, rice, baby diapers and paper goods. The pantry can't accept cans larger than 32 ounces, homemade food or food items with expired food dates.

Donations also can be brought to the Human Services Department on the second floor of village hall, 50 S. Emerson St. between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, contact the Human Services Department at (847) 870-5680, or mountprospect.org.
