Power out 76 hours; seems no one cared
On June 18th, at 10 p.m. the Weathersfield South area had a power outage for approximately 50 of the over 100 homes in the area.
Power was not restored until June 22 at 2 a.m. This was a total of about 76 hours without power and made life very difficult for the many senior citizens. Results were hard with loss of refrigerated food and temperatures in the upper 80s.
Calls to ComEd were useless as it was apparent that we were on the bottom end of the pole to have power restored. There was no damage in our area and we could not get a reason why power was lost.
Since we are not huge power users we had to wait until all of the important customers were taken care of first.
Calls were made to the Village of Schaumburg, hoping they would be concerned, and maybe help influence ComEd to at least try to restore our power.
Other then listen, they did not offer assistance, so maybe we are on the bottom of their pole too. Maybe this is something for us to remember in the next election.
