New Centegra wound center:Centegra Health System has opened its first comprehensive wound treatment center in Huntley. The Centegra Wound and Hyberbaric Center opened July 1. It serves diabetics and other patients who suffer from chronic or non-healing wounds. The center features hyperbaric chambers that use oxygen to stimulate vessel growth and improve circulation. The center is at 11650 S. Route 47, Huntley. Visit centegra.org/woundcare or call (815) 334-5566.Kane tax bills:The second installment for Kane County property tax bills is due Sept. 1. Taxpayers can go to kanecountytreasurer.org to view current tax information and print out duplicate bills. Also available on the website is a list of all unclaimed funds held by the treasurer's office. You can mail tax payments to the treasurer's office in the envelope provided, at a designated bank in Kane County, or in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Treasurer David Rickert's office, 719 Batavia Ave., Geneva. A payment drop box is available 24 hours a day located behind Building A at the Government Center on Batavia Avenue. You can also pay by credit card or E-check over the Internet, but there is a convenience fee for each service. For more details, call Rickert's office at (630) 232-3565.Cardio screening planned:The McHenry County Health Department will offer cardiovascular screenings from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at the department's office, 100 N. Virginia St., Crystal Lake. The screening requires a 12-hour fast beforehand and includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, blood pressure and other measures. Appointments are needed and may be made by calling (815) 334-4536. The cost is $35.
