No proof of Navistar allegations, just sensational lies
Do you ever wonder which local corporations step up to the plate and sponsor all those wonderful summer festivals we enjoy? Since April, there is a Warrenville-based company that has donated more than $100,000 to at least five big events. You guessed it - Navistar! Here's a list of the events, organizations that benefit and their respective causes:
• March for Babies (The March of Dimes) - preventing birth defects and infant mortality.
• The Sustainable Challenge (Sustainability Partners, Inc.) - advocating sustainable lifestyles for home and transportation.
• Ribfest (Naperville Exchange Club) - preventing child abuse.
• Eyes to the Skies (Lisle's Rotary, Lions and Kiwanis Clubs) - providing for the homeless, hungry, and persons with special needs and disabilities; (The Lisle Education Foundation) - education for the less fortunate; (Partners for Parks) - protection of parks and other nature resources.
• Rockin' for the Troops Concert (Operation Support Our Troops-Illinois, Inc.) - supporting our troops and developing programs to support the families of servicemen and women overseas.
Navistar is the same corporation the Citizens for Healthy Development want us to believe has orchestrated sinister backroom deals, plans to thumb its nose at the EPA and poison nearby neighbors and autistic schoolchildren, and will deviously conspire to go back on their word and build additional test cells in the dark of night. That doesn't sound like the same company that wants Lisle to thrive, help the community's children, adults and servicemen/women in need, protect the environment and create more sustainable lifestyles.
The CHD and their band of misinformation officers never offered proof of their accusations, only sensational lies of their own. No audio or videotape, no secret memos of documents, just conspiracy theories. So, who would you rather have as your neighbors? I choose Navistar.
