Schaumburg man charged with spiriting teen away for sex

A 19-year-old Schaumburg man has been charged with a felony for transporting a 15-year-old Georgia girl across state lines for sex.

David Kyle Murch is being held without bond after being charged with traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual contact with a minor.

According to the complaint, the girl was reported missing Saturday in Buffalo, N.Y., where she was visiting grandparents. An investigation turned up evidence of an online relationship with a Chicago-area man, determined to be Murch. There were also unauthorized transactions on her grandfather's debit card in New York and Ohio on Saturday, and phone records found the victim's cell phone used in Schaumburg on Sunday morning.

Murch was arrested without incident by FBI agents and Schaumburg police in Elk Grove Village on Sunday, and the girl was recovered unharmed at his apartment and has been returned to her family.

Murch will be tried in Buffalo and if convicted faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
