Lake Zurich public park offenses:The village of Lake Zurich approved a law that alters the way police officers issue citations for park offenses. Under the new municipal code, officers can dictate penalties for violating rules at local parks instead of requiring the violator to go to a hearing. The new code indicates fines for specific offenses. Fines cannot exceed $750. The changes to the code allow for more efficiency, Police Chief Patrick Finlon said. It follows the same idea as parking citations, and the person who committed the offense still has the right to request a hearing, he said.Mundelein wants opinions:Mundelein residents can take a short online survey about the village's newsletter. The five questions can be viewed at mundelein.org.Antioch limits police escorts:The village of Antioch has decided that the village needs guidelines for who can receive a police escort. After some discussion at the village board meeting, the group decided to pass a resolution that limits police and fire truck escorts through town to Antioch teams returning to town after coming in first, second, third or fourth in a state competition. The resolution also allows an escort for war veterans returning from an active tour abroad and for dignitaries visiting the town.American English rescheduled: American English's performance in Palatine has been rescheduled to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Fred P.
