Daniel's putback powers Christian LibertyJan 16, 2015 11:08 PM - Christian Liberty Academy's Ben Daniel does not want to be a watchmaker. But he still has an excellent concept of time. Daniel's putback just before the final horn sounded helped lift the Chargers past Alden-Hebron 44-42 Friday in Arlington Heights in a Northeastern Athletic Conference boys basketball matchup. "At the end of the game, everyone thinks there is less time left than there really is," said Daniel, a three-year starter for CLA who finished with 10 points. "So I just charged in for the rebound. I saw it come off the rim and I just put it in."

Harvest Christian turns out the lights on Alden-HebronJan 9, 2015 11:15 PM - Early in the second quarter in the boys basketball game between Alden-Hebron and host Harvest Christian Friday night, Lions' guard Austin White stole the ball at half-court and went the other way for an uncontested layup. Then the lights turned out, stopping play. While the outage was quickly restored it was symbolic of the play of the Lions in the game. Using three separate runs of at least 8-0, Harvest Christian sprinted out to an early lead and never looked back, dumping the Green Giants 67-37 for their first Northeastern Athletic Conference win.

Castro takes over for Harvest ChristianJan 9, 2015 10:53 PM - Paulina Castro has a way of just taking over a game. The Harvest Christian junior guard did just that on Friday night with 29 points, including 16 in the first quarter, to lead the Lions to a 70-39 home win over Alden-Hebron in Northeastern Athletic Conference girls basketball action. It was the Lions' sixth straight win as they improved to 13-3 overall and remained undefeated at 4-0 in the conference.
