Obama has restored honor to White House

Fence Post has published letters expressing the view that President Obama is a mistake. To that view, we must take great exception.

The biggest mistake was allowing the U.S. Supreme Court to perpetrate Bush and his cronies on us for 8 years. Two unlawful wars predicated on lies resulted in thousands of our young men and women killed or maimed for life. President Obama has brought an elevated level of intellectual accomplishment, honesty, integrity, morals, and ethics back to the presidency in contrast to Bush administration.

The economy is in a disastrous mess attributable to failed Bush policies, bankers, Realtors, and loan officers who sold homes to people they knew could not pay huge mortgages. In fact, 18 percent could not make their first payment. The banks then went ahead and sold the bad paper all over the world. During our 43 years of marriage, we have owned 5 homes. And, for mortgages, we went through almost everything but an FBI check to qualify.

Greed, one of the seven capital sins, is now our national anthem. Further, Republicans failed to properly handle immigration issues due to receiving 40 percent of Hispanic votes. They knew it was too hot a topic. But, they did not mind offering fast-track citizenship to those joining military.

Shame on Republicans.

All loyal Americans should be thankful that President Obama has restored intellectual achievement, honesty, integrity, and ethics to the presidency.
