Missing West Chicago teenager found safe
A 13-year-old West Chicago girl missing since Tuesday was found safe early Friday morning at a residence in unincorporated DuPage County.
DuPage County sheriff's deputies picked up Erica Shipley after receiving an anonymous tip from another teenager "who knew exactly where she was," West Chicago Police Det. Patrick O'Neil said.
The missing teen's family had offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to Erica's return, but the tipster did not give her name.
"Her motivation wasn't the reward," O'Neil said.
Erica was last seen at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday leaving a McDonald's restaurant in West Chicago with three unidentified females who appeared to be similar in age.
Police said she was believed to be a runaway, and that she needed medication for an undisclosed medical condition.
