Hawks make another deal, sending Fraser to Edmonton

After getting the offseason rolling with a 9-player swap of players, draft picks and prospects with the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday, the Blackhawks made another roster move Thursday morning, sending 25-year-old center Colin Fraser to the Edmonton Oilers for a sixth-round pick in this year's NHL entry draft.

Fraser, a restricted free agent, was projected to be fourth-line center next season if he stayed with the Stanley Cup champions. Although Fraser only played in three postseason games this spring with the Hawks, he had 19 points and 44 penalty minutes in 70 regular season games.

Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman will have more to say about this weekend's draft and the deals he made later today.
